6. BUSINESS ARISING 1. Cornwall Room Schedule & Communities In Bloom C. Libbey passed the schedule around for the month of March. The Chair asked if anyone on the committee was wlling or free to sit on the Communities In Bloom committee. After a month of thought, no one was able to take part. The Chair will let Barb at the Cornwall & Seaway Valley Tourism know. 2. Invite Stephen Alexander or Ken Bedford The Chair reported that Ken Bedford would rather have Heritage Cornwall members to e-mail him and Stephen Alexander with any inquiries. Then they will be answered in turn. The committee members were not pleased with the non-personal answer, but a few membersplan to proceed with sending their inquiries. 3. Plaques for Old Baptist Church, Nativity Church & Chesley’s Inn R. Desrosiers completed the translation to French for the Old Baptist Church text. The Chair is to send to everyone the text for Nativity Church and Chelsey’s Inn. 4. Pitt Street Book and New Pamphlet C. Libbey said that she will contact Ken Bedford and Stephen Alexander concerning the new pamphlets. She is also going to go through the Down The Lane (Again) publications to see if there are more tidbits to add to the Pitt Street book. 5. Heritage Fair After several set-backs, the Heritage Fair did take place at the Cornwall Public Library on February 20th. Heritage Cornwall was located in the Cornwall Room while the rest of the participants were along the hallway that follows Sydney Street. Since the event, the Chair has received several comments that basically were negative in nature. In 2011 the Heritage Fair is to be organized by Ian Bowering as he has an idea that should be tried out. 6. Property Research No one has been working
on this due to several events. S. Lauzon will immediately work on
the 126 Sydney Street file.
7. NEW BUSINESS 1. Old Grammar School The property is once again up for sale for the third time in less than a year. The committee has decided to just sit back and wait to see what will happen this time before approaching the new owners. 2. Protection of Archive C. Libbey has passed around
the agreement that the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Historical Society
has concerning their collection. Due to time constraints, everyone
is asked to look at the agreement and think about applying a similar agreement
for the Heritage Cornwall archive. Committee members were asked to
be careful about requests to make copies for the moment.
